“Glee” Takes on Fleetwood Mac

Right on the heels of Stevie Nicks’ new album, the members of “Glee” put their own twist on songs from Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album, “Rumours.” Kristin Chenoweth April Rhodes returned to the show to borrow the auditorium she donated, and while there, compared the New Directions’ romantic drama to that of Fleetwood Mac’s during the recording of their popular album. Her comparison nailed it, but how did the glee club do?

“Despite a forced theme premise, the songs of ‘Rumours’ fit the New Directions’ drama in an organic way, and led to more stripped-down production numbers,” wrote Erica Futterman, in an article on RollingStone.com. “They’re not as visually stunning, but they’re vocally some of the more impressive renditions Glee has done all season.”

So what songs did the cast choose to tackle? “Dreams,” “Never Going Back Again,” “Songbird,” “I Don’t Want to Know,” “Go Your Own Way,” and “Don’t Stop”—all bold choices for such a young group, but then again, when it comes to “Glee,” we’ve come to expect no less.
